Stacy Underwood Carson, O.D.
Dr. Stacy Underwood Carson completed her undergraduate program at Georgia State University afterwards attending Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where she received her Optometry degree in May 1997. During the years she was earning her degree she was also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa honor society, Omega Delta fraternity of Optometrists and was acting president of the Contact Lens Society. In 1997, she received the National Corning Scholarship Award for her research in the area of Ophthalmic lenses.
Since 1997 she has been an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association. After graduating with her degree in Optometry, Dr. Carson - also a 1988 graduate of Heritage High School - returned to her hometown of Conyers, Georgia to join her father, Terrell Underwood, L.D.O., in their family-owned and operated business where he had been meeting the glasses needs of the Conyers community for many years as Milam's Opticians. Just a short time after "the doctor was in," Milam's Community Eye Care" was born.
Since 1997 she has been an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association. Dr. Carson practices full scope primary care Optometry, including the treatment and management of ocular diseases such as glaucoma.
She and her husband live close by with their daughter Lily, Bailey the beagle and cats Harry and Hazel. Dr. Carson is an animal lover, loves a good movie, a good book, and spending her weekends at the lake.
